Churches Together
with
Hard of Hearing People
|
 |
|
For well over one hundred years the Diocese of Winchester and Portsmouth have supported Chaplains and volunteers in their work with profoundly Deaf people.
Aims
Churches Together with Hard of Hearing People was formed to enable all hard of hearing and deafened Christians worship in their own local church. Support is offered in the following ways:
- Give information on available communication equipment
- Offer trained Lipspeakers
- Talk to Church Councils and other groups on the needs of people who have a hearing loss.
- Offer practical help at Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals to enable Hard of Hearing people to participate fully.
- Enable Hard of Hearing and deafened Christians to share and discuss ways in which they can be better supported.
